Principals at Lumen Christi Catholic College and Eden Marine High School (EMHS) have congratulated students on the completion of their 2021 HSC in a particularly challenging time.

Shane Giles principal at Lumen Christi said the group "endured the full force of the COVID-19 pandemic having had the entirety of their two senior years disrupted" but over 10 per cent of students appeared in the distinguished achievers list, having received the highest credential of Band 6.
"Lumen Christi Catholic College is also represented in the All Round Achievers list (achieved a Band Six in five or more courses). I am proud to note that so many of our students improved their grades through the year and that despite the challenges leading to the examination period, many improved their final result," Mr Giles said.
Acting principal at EMHS Viv Chelin said the school was very proud of the results HSC students achieved this year, with 79 course results in the top three bands.
"Our high achievers include Travis Nemec who achieved a Band 6 in Construction and Louise Campbell who is the 2021 Dux. Students who also achieved very pleasing results include Lorcan Brennan, Kendall Doyle, Vivienne Shearer, Charlie Buckingham, Georgia Caldwell, Annie Gilbert, Emily Hodkinson, Zak Kelly, Cody McCamish, Jacob Overend, Hayley Peisley and Sam Wood," Ms Chelin said.
"Students achieved very pleasing results in Mathematics Standard 2, Construction, Food Technology, PDHPE, Visual Arts, Business Services, Mathematics Advanced, English Standard, Biology and English Advanced," she added.
Mr Giles said students returned strong results in Music and Visual Arts, Advanced Maths, Religion, Modern History as well as English, Mathematics and Science extension subjects.
"Students also returned strong results in Vocational Education and Training (VET) courses such as Construction and Hospitality. The college has a number of year 11 students in early commencement VET courses. They begin their HSC year with these courses completed, ready to take on the challenges of 2022."
