THE team at Latrobe's Cherry Shed is reaching out to help an "extended family member". Spreyton woman Kate Arney was diagnosed with terminal bowel cancer early this year and has been fund- raising to send her and her two best friends on a mainland road trip. Latrobe Cherry Shed cafe manager Leanne Webb said Miss Arney and her father Kingsley had been long- standing employees of the business. The Cherry Shed will host a fund-raiser on Friday to help Miss Arney reach her $10,000 target. "She is totally inspirational the way she has conducted herself," Mrs Webb said. "When she created this wish list we thought let's contribute to that or even if we can raise over and above to give them something to do as a family together." The night will include trivia and a cocktail style meal. Numerous prizes have been donated by members of the public for raffles and auctions. "The public have been phenomonal with their donations, it's just amazing," Mrs Webb said. "Every Sunday morning we have an elderly couple who come in, they order two flat whites in cups and this one morning they handed over $50." The Latrobe Cherry Shed's auction and trivia night will be held on Friday from 7pm. Tickets cost $25. For more information call 6426 2411.
