FRIDAY 8pm: A further small earthquake has hit Tumut just before 6pm.  Data from Geoscience Australia has shown that a 1.7 magnitude earthquake occurred at 5.53pm.  FRIDAY 10.30am: DOZENS of phone calls were made to triple-0 after a 1.8 magnitude earthquake struck near Tumut last night.  The Daily Advertiser has been told at least 40 people dialed the emergency number, initially thinking there may have been an explosion at the nearby Visy paper mill.  No damage was reported in Tumut.  The latest information from Geoscience Australia indicates the  quake was recorded at a depth of three kilometres at 10.21pm last night.  FRIDAY 12.30am: A 1.8 magnitude earthquake has struck the region between Tumut and Adelong about 10.20pm last night. The epicentre was close to the Visy paper mill, according to data on the Geoscience Australia website.
