A spokesperson from the NSW Rural Fire Service in Bega said that people should review their bushfire survival plans with their families, and keep informed and monitor the condition via the the RFS app.
The forecast across the Bega Valley are showing temperatures of up to 28 degrees in some parts today, with temperatures of around 25 degrees already spiking at 8:40am this morning.
There are West North Westerly gale wind warnings in place, with gusts of up to 59km/h predicted in some areas of the Shire.
The RFS wanted to also remind people that in this rating, all fire permits are suspended and that pile burns should be checked to ensure that they are not alight.
People are also reminded that throwing a lit cigarette butt from cars or trucks is extremely dangerous as cigarettes can start bush and grass fires.
There are heavy penalties for discarding a lit cigarette from a vehicle. Fines of $660 and five demerit points apply for those caught.
There is also a lot of dust and pollen in the air today. People are reminded that kind of weather can also be a strong trigger for asthmatics.
There is expected to be a cool change overnight with temperatures dropping significantly. Daytime temperatures on Saturday October 26 are expected to reach between 14 and 19 degrees.
