Fire south of Wolumla contained
A Forestry Corporation spokesman has said a fire 7km south west of Wolumla on Forestry Corporation land, has now been contained.

He said the Rats Valley fire started from a lighting strike on Wednesday evening, January 13, when a storm came through the area.
A smoke sighting was confirmed on Thursday by a National Parks and Wildlife Service air spotter.
NPWS and Forestry Corporation ground crews responded to the fire which is now contained and crews are blacking out and mopping up, the spokesman said adding there were no threats.
