Wright was a late bloomer for the Hurricanes in BBL09, but grabbed his opportunity with scores of 70 not out and 64 in consecutive games to end the tournament with 149 runs at an average of 49.66 and a strike rate of 125.21.
Wright told reporters he was grateful to the club for his maiden opportunity and was quick to continue with the Hurricanes for the new season.
"I was really grateful last year to get the opportunity with the Hurricanes, so it was a no-brainer to sign on and repay some of the faith the Hurricanes showed with me," the 22-year-old said.
The Hurricanes opened their BBL 10 campaign on Thursday with Mac batting at five and scoring eight runs off 10 balls.
After a shaky start where the openers were dispensed for ducks, the team built to 8/188, while the Sydney Sixers finished on 6/162.
