Barb has worked as a customer service officer for the bank since it opened in 2008. Barb and her husband John Hanley were among the original team of people people who proposed having the Community Bank in Pambula.
Chairman of the board of the Pambula Community Bank, Colin Dunn said Barb always enjoyed her contact with customers and customers loved talking to her.
"She has been a fabulous advocate for community banking in Pambula and customers have sought her out. It was one of those old-fashioned banking things, which the older members of the community really liked," he said.
Barb was farewelled by staff and the board last Friday and in her farewell speech said that although she was retiring she only lived around the corner so would still be able to "keep an eye on the young ones".
