Set up by the Sapphire Life Church, the shop forms part of a new charity for the church.
Pastor Jeremy Fernando said the new charity Sapphire Life Opportunities was formed in November last year and so was perfectly positioned to receive funds and get the funds into people's hands immediately.
He said they got the Community Recovery Fire Fund up and running from the time of the New Year's Eve fires and had been able to give funds directly to those people affected by the fires.
"Every cent you donate goes towards crisis support. We are a tier 1 tax deductible company," Mr Fernando said.
Located in the old BWS premises the shop has food and a wide selection of clothing and linen.
"Our policy is take what you need, give what you can, no item is priced. All money donated will go directly to those in our area affected by the fires but anyone can come to the shop and take what they need," Ms Fernando said.
"At this stage we only have the building for three months but hey...we have it and we intend to bless our community through it."
The shop is open from Monday's to Saturday's 10am to 2pm.
"So no matter who you are or what situation you are in, you are welcome at our community square, whether it's to shop or just to come and have a cuppa and a chat. All are welcome," Ms Fernando said.
