A bushfire at Creewah on the Snowy Monaro escalated to Emergency warning status just after 2pm on Sunday, with hot weather and easterly winds pushing the blaze across New Line Rd and the Bombala River.

The western flank of the fire was of most concern with more than 2700ha burnt.
On Monday the fire remains out of control, although is now at Advice level.
At 11am, the RFS reported fire activity continues in the vicinity of Creewah Road and the Bombala River, to the east of Poddy Hut Rd, on the western side of the fire ground.
Firefighters are working with aircraft to slow the spread of fire.
Anyone in the area of Creewah Rd, New Line Rd, Narrowness Rd and Glen Allen area are urged to monitor conditions and know what you will do if fire threatens

If the fire impacts, seek shelter in a solid structure to protect yourself from the heat of the fire.
