The Chicks had been the marquee team throughout the season, but the High Heelers were quick off the mark from their defensive line and did enough work to choke Bega's speedy options, which limited Bega's chances during play.
The High Heelers had struck early and were buoyed by their 6-0 lead, which they were able to carry into the break.
Jacinta Dummett, Madison Parbery, Ali Ringland and Joccoaa Rogers headlined most of Bega's attacking raids, but many try-scoring options were pulled up short of the line by well-timed tags.
After being injured in the first half, Alana Dummett made her presence felt in the second half with some blazing runs that led to Bega's solitary try.
Alana broke the Bombala line and had some clever outside support from Madison Parbery to cross and plant the ball down moments before the High Heelers plucked her tag.
Play was locked at 6-6 and the clock was ticking, but with about two minutes left the Chicks lined up to collect the High Heelers' fifth tackle kick, but an unfavourable bounce and immense run-down pressure forced a fumble on the Chicks' edge.
The handover gave the High Heelers field position and possession into the dying minute of play where the High Heelers swept left and planted a try with 40 seconds left on the clock.
The kick died away, but the result was sealed with the Heelers taking the win 10-6.
