Our business data shows that advertisers and readers are increasingly using mobile and online technologies to reach us, do business, write letters and engage.
And we've evolved too, with a purpose-built system that allows us to put out a newspaper and run a website from anywhere with an internet connection.
So while the News Weekly remains committed to our community, a decision has been made to close the current office from mid-October. The times keep changing, and keep testing us, so our decision to vacate the Monaro St office is a considered business case. But let's be clear: we're still here.
Journalist Denise Dion and sales representative Hanna Marshall will still be working in town, our content will still be widely and freely available on our website, and our papers will still be proudly on sale every week.
All that changes is, from October 14, we will be using a mobile working model.
For those of you who prefer a face-to-face discussion - and who doesn't? - you can always reach out to Denise (0418 213 780) and Hanna (0439 034 823) to organise a catch-up, or feel free to bend their ear anytime you see them around town.
As always, our website at www.merimbulanewsweekly.com.au is your best source of local news, sport and community information, as well as a simple way of contributing photos and story ideas you'd like us to cover.
We've proudly been Merimbula's main news source since 1988 - and that won't change just because we don't have a shop window.
