"Bill Shorten's might be available," he says with a laugh. "I don't reckon he'll be needing his."
Tommy is bringing his stand up routine to Oaklands this coming Friday and promises to deliver a no-holds-barred style show.
That is, if he can find the place - "So tell me is it Merimbula or Mullumbimby?" he jokes during our chat over the phone this week.
I politely tell him the differences between the two places and he is apologetic, but I had to wonder was he just being funny.
The self-confessed genius is also self-confessed comedy addict. He tells me he performed 110 gigs in his first year as a stand up comic and still currently performs around eight shows per week.
Astounded I ask him how he keeps coming up with material.
"Life," he says, "I'm bad at life, it's all my failures, why not laugh about them?"
Tommy says he won't hold back during his visit, bringing a show that is definitively not-politically-correct with the comic saying he likes to "say what you want".
Which, if you have ever come across any of his antics on The Project, or heard him bantering with Carrie Bickmore on radio, you would know is just the thing that has made him so popular with audiences all around Australia.
"PC is just boring," he says. "Who cares? Seriously, say whatever you want."
It's a take on comedy that sometimes lands him in hot water, but it is part of his charm.
"I'm not seeking to give anyone a lesson or tell anybody how to live their life - I'm just hoping people have a laugh, have a good time and forget all their worries," he said.
Performing across TV, radio and stage; I ask him where he is most comfortable.
"I enjoy everything, but stand-up has always been my home. It's relaxing, it's honest, there's no editing, no changes and you're free to say whatever you want."
I could be wrong, but I've got a hunch that's exactly what he'll be doing at Oaklands on Friday night.
Tommy Little and Logie Award winning Luke McGregor will be performing live this coming Friday, July 5 at Oaklands. The event will be hosted by Steve Philp and is proudly presented by Merimbula based JAM Event Management.
