Welcome rain in Merimbula did nothing to dent spirits at the Crazy Day sale, Merimbula Chamber of Commerce president Lynn McColl said adding that the feedback from the retail sector was that they were “very happy”.

The Crazy Day sale on October 4 included plenty of bargains, face painting, a chance to meet the local firies and Marine Rescue and an ice cream eating competition at the Ice Creamery at Hylands Corner, which Ms McColl said was very successful. “It was wonderful to see the Crazy Dale sale back on the agenda and it was popular with visitors too.”

She said the town was “activated” from Woolworths where the Lions Club had a sausage sizzle to the McDonalds car park where the fire truck was parked.
