Team Rubicon consists of military veterans, emergency service workers and members of the public, and has helped in times of crisis in Nepal, the United States, Greece and Canada.
A 16-member team is currently based out of the Tathra Beach Bowling Club, helping to clear properties.
“There’s a lot of small jobs kicking around like debris management and chainsaw work,” director of field operations Adam Cantrick said this week.
Mr Cantrick was joined on Tathra Headland Monday morning by fellow members Nick Backe-Hansen, Ben Patrick and Greg Cullen.
Although well versed in disaster situations, this is the first bushfire event for the team.
Recovery coordinator Euan Ferguson said Team Rubicon and Samaritan’s Purse were both doing great work in Tathra and surrounds as they work alongside the many local organisations lending a hand.
