Before completing her High School Certificate exams, Hannah Webster knew she had already been accepted to study a Bachelor of Pre-Medicine at the University of Wollongong.
Eden CWA decided the Pambula Beach resident’s ambitions were so great that it announced Ms Webster as the recipient of its $1000 tertiary education grant.
CWA president Sharyn Nammensma said the branch was proud to see the grant going towards encouraging women to pursue careers in medicine, science, technology, engineering or mathematics.
“The government has said they want to see more women in these areas and this money helps achieve that,” Ms Nammensma said.
Ms Webster, who has just completed her HSC exams at Eden Marine High School, said the grant would assist with her moving and living expenses when she relocates to Wollongong early next year.
She thanked the Eden CWA branch for the grant and her careers advisor Michelle Bond for encouraging her to apply for it.
