Skirts. Bow ties. Manes. You’d be forgiven for thinking a fashion parade was taking place through the streets of Merimbula on Sunday morning.

It was in fact the RSPCA Million Paws Walk, raising funds to fight animal cruelty.
More than 100 dogs and their owners from across the Bega Valley and even interstate took to the footpath from Rotary Park to show their support.
Shane Thornbury, president of the RSPCA Sapphire Coast volunteer branch, said the fourth annual walk was the biggest yet.
“We counted 120 dogs, compared to 104 last year,” Mr Thornbury said.
”It was coordinated really well.”
Two raffles were drawn and prizes were awarded for best dressed dog, big dog, small dog and coordinated dress between owners and their dogs.
The Sapphire Coast branch meets on the third Sunday of every month at Club Sapphire at 2pm for those who want to be involved.
