The intriguing looking kangaroo – which has affectionately been named White-Tail due to its distinctive white patches on both its nose and tail – was spotted at the golf course while a family from Traralgon went on a roo spotting adventure at the Pambula Merimbula Golf Course.
Local golfers first spotted White-Tail at the Pambula Merimbula Golf Course for more than 15 years ago.
She has had a number of joeys during this time but club members said the old roo is rarely seen these days.
The average age of a wild kangaroo tends to be less than 10 years, although some kangaroo individuals in the wild have been known to get closer to 20 years old.
Staff members Peter White said the roo was happy to pose for the group for a while but as soon as he raised his camera for a photo, she turned to jump away.
“I pressed the photo button just on spec and managed to get the photo,” Mr White said.
“It's not the perfect photograph, but it was great timing underpinned by a whole lot of good luck.”
Starting on June 9, the club will be running Kangaroo Tours on Fridays to Mondays. Contact the club for more details.
