Pambula Rotary President Daryl Dobson said “when we heard that Merimbula parkrun needed the defibrillator unit we were more than happy to help out”.
Led by volunteers, parkrun encourages fitness by organising free, weekly, 5km timed events around the world that are open to walkers and runners of all abilities.
Merimbula parkrun Event Director Donella Roberts said the defibrillator is a much needed safety measure.
“We are very grateful to Pambula Rotary for providing a loan of the defibrillator to us. While we hope we never have to use it, it gives us peace of mind that it is available in case of emergency,” Ms Roberts said.
Merimbula parkrun meets each Saturday morning at the Merimbula Boat Ramp at 8am and welcomes all.
To take part simply register online for free at www.parkrun.com.au/merimbula/ and bring along a printed copy of your barcode on Saturday mornings.
