Twyford Hall, where the exhibition is held each year, was crowded on Thursday evening as Tathra-based artist and judge of this year’s exhibits, Tim Moorhead announced the winners.
Mr Moorhead is not only an artist himself but has also been a national arts officer and art critic for the Canberra Times.
Mr Moorhead and Madag founding member Marjorie Roach who has been with the group for 41 years presented the Best in Show prize to an emotional but delighted Kathryn Hede for her work Simply White on Red.
“Simplicity can be very powerful,” Mr Moorhead said adding that the work was “exceptional”.
