A rising star in Melbourne’s blues and folk music scene is travelling through the Sapphire Coast this weekend to promote the release of his debut album High Priests & Love Affairs.
At the age of only 19, Aaron Pollock, is astounding audiences with his intricate finger-style guitar skills, accompanied by a rare tender blues voice he takes you back to the days of old blues artists such as Robert Johnson and Blind Willie Mctell.
Aaron performs a varied range of musical genres, he has also been compared to Bob Dylan in his poetic songwriting and captivating lyricism.
'High Priests & Love Affairs' greatly portrays Aaron's songwriting prowess. He seamlessly sifts through genres such as folk finger-picking songs, blues, ragtime, jazz and country.
The album focuses on tales of previous relationships and also Aaron's upbringing, a two year long endeavor, which grips your attention whole, taking you for a wild ride through countless realms of emotion.
“People of all ages can relate to my music,” Aaron said.
“I’ve had people in their 60s and 70s tell me they like it but then I have also met a lot of young people who have really gotten into my music.”
Supported by Ari Scott (UK) and Jordan Bakker (AUS), Aaron will be impressing local audiences on his first ever tour, from October 4 to November 9.
He personally chose to play at smaller bars and venues in local towns to engender ardent connections between himself and audience members. He will be travelling Australia's east coast for five weeks, playing through Pambula, Bega and Merimbula in the coming week.
He said he is particularly excited about returning to Merimbula.
“I used to stay in Merimbula a lot when I was younger. I haven’t been back in a while so it will be interesting to see how it’s changed and to meet some locals.”

Aaron Pollock will be debuting his new album at three locations on the Sapphire Coast. He said he decided to make all the shows free as he wanted to make them accessible to anyone interested.
He will start in Pambula, playing at the Royal Willows Hotel on Friday, October 14 starting at 8pm. Then he’s heading to Bega on Saturday, October 15 to play at the Grand Hotel at 8pm. He will finish his time on the coast with a 5pm sunset session at Dulcie’s Cottage in Merimbula.
