Following on from last year’s two killer shows the Sapphire Coast Concert Band and the Sapphire Coast Big Band are putting the finishing touches on their upcoming annual family concert.
A packed show 'From Classics to Jazz' had the audience cheering and clapping when the bands performed two concerts in May last year.
For the third year in a row the two bands will combine for their annual concert which once again promises to impress the crowds and have everyone out of their seats, dancing and grooving along.
The concert will be conducted by well-known entertainers the Willis twins, David and Geoff, with special guest host Michelle Pettigrove.
David Willis said the theme of this year’s show is pure entertainment, with a huge variety of music on display.
“We have a totally brand new selection of music, there will be a lot of surprises,” David said.
While being careful not to give anything away, David did say that once again local teenager Liam McManus will take to the stage to perform the Michael Bublé version of 'Sway'.
“He is an incredibly talented 18-year-old and has become a bit of a crowd favourite in Merimbula,” he said.
The Big Band will get the show started with some favourites by Gershwin and Benny Goodman which will be conducted by Geoff Willis. Michelle Pettigrove will also lend her voice to a song which is sure to be a highlight.
The second half of the show will be the an epic performance by the Concert Band which will feature the theme from 'Game of Thrones' and a fabulous medley from 'Glee' conducted by David Willis.
The Sapphire Coast Concert Band and Sapphire Coast Big Band will perform two great shows on Saturday, July 30 at 7.30pm with doors open 7pm, and a matinee performance on Sunday July 31 at 2pm with doors open 1.30pm. Tickets $15 per person and are available from the club. Phone 6495 1306.
