Top Lake at Merimbula carries big tailor and trevally, lures and nippers are the go.
Access is best by boat and Merimbula boasts two boat hires, Top Lake and the Marina.
Big bream can be found in the upper parts of the Bega River.

Out on the shelf the game fishing fraternity are into large mako sharks with many caught and tagged at well over 100kg.
MBGALAC will host its Mex Williams Memorial Fishing Competition and weekend away at Wallaga Lake on October 10-12.
