Wendy Brown and her husband Peter, of Mirador were hoping to drive to Canberra on Friday morning but got stuck on Brown Mountain.
Wendy said: "It was strange because we had gone a certain distance and it was just wet and then we went around a bend and it was all white."
Wendy said that they stopped and then when they tried to move again the wheels started spinning.
"A 4-wheel drive came down and the driver said there was no way we would get through as there were several cars stuck further ahead," Wendy said.
However with no way of turning around Wendy and her husband were forced to reverse down part of Brown Mountain until they could find a turning spot.
"It was pretty scary," Wendy admitted.
On Monday the cold continued with a very chilly start to the week. The temperature in Merimbula at 7.50am was 2.6 degrees just a couple of degrees warmer than Perisher! Is this a record?
