Politicians from across the state and across all parties tasted oysters sourced from estuaries and lakes from the north and south coast, complemented by wines from Wines NSW and Guinness beer.
Oysters came from as far north as the Hastings River to as far south as Wonboyn Lake on the Sapphire Coast. Politicians and others got to have a vote on the best tasting oysters and the People’s Choice award went to Wonboyn Rock Oysters from Wonboyn Lake and Broadwater Oysters from Pambula Lake.
This was a great promotional event for the oyster industry and demonstrated the importance of oyster production on the NSW coast.
