With a busy summer season expected, Merimbula Tourism manager Chris Nicholls has put a call for help and is hoping there are some locals keen to assist visitors get the best out of their stay on the Sapphire Coast.
"With Christmas almost upon us, I can report that we look to be having a sell-out peak tourism season 2021/22. Accommodation bookings are at an absolute premium with around 99.5 per cent booked - from December 18, 2021 through to January 16, 2022 - and 95 per cent beyond that - to January 30, 2022," Mr Nicholls said.

"This gives the Merimbula Visitor Information Centre a unique issue - we need more volunteers. Our current volunteer base of 30 volunteers gives us little room to move and we need at least 10 more volunteers to cover the lunchtime periods and busiest days, which look to be huge," he added.
"We are looking for anyone who might be interested in volunteering at the Merimbula Visitor Information Centre to join our happy team here; this might suit a local who is retired and looking for social activity and who loves our region and wants to share that love and experience with visitors to our region.
"It also might suite school leavers and other young people who need experience in tourism and customer service to prepared them for future job opportunities and work in the visitor economy.
"Volunteering at our Visitor Information Centre is also an option for Centrelink requirements for volunteering hours/and 'in-lieu'," Mr Nicholls added.
