A large part of his historical collection was purchased by the National Museum of Australia in Canberra. Through the Commonwealth Government's Cultural Gifts Program the Old School Museum is the recipient of Mr Kennedy's collection of oyster and scallop plates from around the world.
Some of the plates on show include examples from China, Japan, the USA, UK and a couple of pieces of beautiful and delicate Limoges china from France.
Liz Bretherton, of the Merimbula Historical Society said the collection contained 260 plates and she has been talking with Wheelers and other local restaurants about having some on show in their restaurants.
