NSW RFS Superintendent John Cullen said all residents on the Far South Coast need to be prepared for the bush fire season.
"Volunteer firefighters will be available to talk to about the simple things you can do to reduce your bush fire risk, like having a bush fire survival plan," Superintendent Cullen said.
"Preparing for bush fires is easier than people may think. Have a five-minute conversation and ask yourself - when will you go, what will you take and where will you go?"
The Merimbula Rural Fire Service brigade is hosting two events this Saturday, September 14.
- Yellow Pinch street meeting at the highway turnoff to Yellow Pinch Drive, 10-11am
- Merimbula RFS Station open day, 126 Merimbula Drive, 12-1pm
Pambula RFS is hosting a station open day on Sunday, September 15
- Pambula Fire Station, 3 Sir William McKell Dr, 10am until 2pm
