A three-course dinner and cabaret show is planned for Saturday, March 30 at the Oaklands Events Centre, Pambula.
The cabaret will feature Eliane Morel accompanied by Paul Dion and will include songs from the musical Less Miserables. The audience will be encouraged to sing along with some of the songs.
Eliane Morel is a principal singer with Opera Bites in Sydney. She has worked as a concert singer throughout Sydney and regional NSW including concerts for Newcastle Festival Opera, Newcastle Musica Viva and the Sapphire Coast Music Society.
Eliane will be accompanied at the keyboard by Paul Dion, a multi-talented musician and composer who is program co-ordinator for the Merimbula Jazz Festival, and the MC for Jazz Quest and leader of Sapphire Coast Jazz Band.
The program will include the following songs : At the end of the day; I dreamed a dream; Castle on a cloud; Master of the House; Stars; Do you hear the people sing? (Audience participation); In my life; Heart full of love; On my own; A little fall of rain; Drink with me (Audience participation); Bring him home; Empty Chairs at Empty Tables.
The cost $60 per person, and organiser of the event, Mike Warren from the Alliance Francaise encouraged members to bring guests and make up a table (maximum of 10 per table).
"And you can get into the mood by dressing up for what should be a memorable night out," Mr Warren said.
"We expect this cabaret to be very popular, based on the rave reviews of the 2018 Bastille Day event where Eliane and Paul performed previously," Mr Warren added.
