Unfortunately most of those who braved the wet conditions had high tailed it home before Ben and playing partner Luke Luchetti finished their round so little fuss was made of Ben’s outstanding effort. Not only great to see you on the course boys but greater still seeing one of the younger brigade in the winner’s circle.
The 45 points Ben scored beat the rest of the mob by a resounding 5 points with Rob Pursehouse leading the B grade contingent with what would normally be a great score of 40 points, Brian Loorham went home with the A grade cash with a very consistent 39 points.
Neil McDonald proved the old saying “you have to be in it to win it” when he took the Sails Real Estate cash on the 6th hole. Well done Macca.
With a strong representation attending the Mallacoota Open on Saturday our field was somewhat diminished, however good scoring in the unpopular par event saw Rob Pritchard lead the day with plus 6 in C grade. Ian Macartney led A grade on plus 4 with Rob Wright finding plus 3 good enough to grace the winners circle in B grade.
John Brandenburg is making a habit of collecting the cash for the golden shot. Nice playing John 186 cm to the tough pin on the back of the sixth usually gets the job done.
For those interested the bunker upgrade program is moving along very smoothly under the expert guidance of Darby Muller of Golf Shapes and Pat Wilson our marvellous superintendent.
The Lions Club do a sterling job in the community so please support their Annual fund raising effort this coming up weekend. Singles Stableford on Saturday and 4 person ambrose on Sunday.
On Friday coming the 16th we are conducting the first of 5 tradie afternoons 3.30 gather for a 4 o’clock shotgun start , a great afternoon is assured to all attendees. All will be made very welcome.
Wendy Cugley took the major prize in ladies golf on Thursday with 38 points just edging out the ever consistent Jo Hunt on a countback. Indeed great to see Arda Wright leading the way in the nine hole event.
A bigger than normal Saturday field for the lady players saw Cate Walker take the cake with 37 points in a close call over Leonie Bell on 36 and three others on 35 points, good playing ladies.
The course is in outstanding condition so make the effort to come and enjoy the facilities we are so lucky to be part of.
