The man pleaded guilty in Bega District Court on Monday, September 3, to four counts of sexual intercourse perpetrated over a decade ago, while the children were in his care.
The children were aged around five and seven years old when the abuse began.
Court documents reveal the man threatened one of his victims with being taken into state care if they did not allow the abuse to continue.
The court alleged the man’s behaviour was “regular” until both children were removed from his care after suffering “chronic neglect”.
Police had been unable to locate the man, who was wanted on outstanding warrants in multiple states, before he was arrested in a Brisbane homeless shelter last year, and extradited to NSW to face the charges.
Bail was not applied for and formally refused by Judge Greg Grogin.
The man will be sentenced in Bega District Court on November 5.
