Under 8 year old surf club superstars right through to under 14s were rewarded for their efforts.
Nipper president Andrew Holt thanked the nippers and their parents for a great season which saw the nippers participate in three surf carnivals and attend Sunday beach safety activities culminating in the Brats V Adults fun day in April.
Maggie Bourke and Lochy O’Duibhir were named nipperette and nipper of the year while Jayden Rafferty and Ruby Bichard took out the all heart awards in the under 14s.
Ryder Woods, Will Walsh, Brandon Ford, Ava Whitby, Maley Whitby and Mia Williams took the under-eight age champion all heart and most improved categories while Lincoln Thompson, David Campbell-Jones, Charlie Dryden, Isabella Evans, Emma Fraser and Eliza Dunwoody were awarded the same categories in the under-nine age group.
In the under 10 age group, Jonte Thompson, Kobi Woods, Ryan Ogilvie, Liam Duggan, Bella Tsogas, Bianca Boag and Maddie Nolan took the awards while in the under 11s recipients were Kalani Rizzotto, William Clapton, Oliver Dinwoodee, Georgia Scarlett, Amelia Walsh and Jade Matterson.
Jack Caldwell, Lachy Harvey, Flynn Whitby, Abby Fraser, Lilly Dryden and Imogen Bichard headlined the under 12 age group while Zac Ogilvy, Kai Holt, Conner Matterson, Tristan Madden, Hayden Leayr, Niamy O’Duibhir, Annabelle Gray and Isabella Williams were rewarded in the under 13 age group.
Frank Davey, life member and long-time Wambiri Surf Life Saving Camp co-ordinator, made special presentations to three nippers moving into the senior active lifesaving ranks.
Kai Holt, Ruby Bichard and Zac Ogilvie were all successful candidates receiving their surf rescue certificate during the camp and will become volunteer lifesavers on patrol next season.
