A spokesman for the Bulldogs said the Pambula ground had been copping it from the weekend cold front.
“The decision had to be made early as the Narooma Devils were travelling down and we needed to give them notice,” the spokesman said.
“It was a mix of factors including the downpours, but also the damaging winds.

“There was also the forecast of more heavy rain predicted in the afternoon, which did eventuate.”
The Pambula Sporting Complex was already inundated by about 9am on Saturday, forcing the cancellation of minor league games.
But close to 50mm of rain fell on the ground over the day, one of the wetter areas across the weekend.
“Pambula was certainly copping the worst of it, a bit more wind and rain than some of the other grounds.”
Despite the cancellation neither team will miss out on the competition points with the round set to run during Group 16’s wet-weather round.
Group 16 Chairman Allan Wilton said some wild weather always had to be predicted and it was a big factor in why the group allocates a spare weekend.
The Bulldogs and Devils matches will be re-scheduled to run during the round on the June long weekend.
