On Wednesday, April 25, Anzac Day was being marked in towns and cities right across the country, including a number of dawn services in the Bega Valley.
Emceed by John Watkin, the Bega service was attended by members of the Bemboka Light Horse, ADFA personnel, a catafalque party from the 5th Engineers, and numerous service men and women and their families.
Major Attila Ovari gave the special address, while prayers were offered by Father Luke Verrell and Reverend Stuart Haynes.
The BDN’s live stream of the service was being viewed across the world, with comments from Salzburg in Austria, Michigan USA, Sumatra and the UK.
The main Anzac Day march in Bega will begin from Club Bega at 10.45am and the service at the Memorial Gate at 11am.
