‘Tura could be next in fire’s path’
Shouldn't council open the access drive between Mirador and Berrambool? With no access to the beach and one road out Mirador is very vulnerable.

A fire starts at Tura with a north wind behind it....look out Merimbula. I used to live in Woodland Drive and every summer would look up the valley anxiously hoping not to see smoke.

The forests need to be conserved but they also need to be cleaned up a bit especially near homes.

The traditional owners of our land did back burning. Why are we as a shire not doing this ancient procedure to indeed prevent catastrophes happening that we have experienced in this last week or so?

I've lived in Acacia Ponds, Millingandi for 11 years and there has never been a controlled burn in that time. The houses here are very close together and are built of hardyplank and weatherboard. Plus there is only one exit road.

Tura Post Office petition
We moved to the area 4 years ago this year and we signed the petition way back then sometime. It’s just a struggle to find parking in Merimbula to use the post office, they also don’t have disability parking. Tura Beach having a post office would prove to be less stressful due to just having those facilities available to the community let alone the other benefits.
