The fan-favourite pre-season competition will draw together all teams within Group 16 for a series of nine-a-side matches across men’s and women’s competitions.
After a successful Indigenous v All Star round and the more recent under 23s Monaro selection trials, officials are excited for the competition that will bring all teams together as a gateway into the season proper.
“It’s going to be an exceptional day of footy,” says Group 16 chairman Allan Wilton.
“This will be where you get to see what clubs are bringing to the table for the 2018 season and gives that early insight for the year ahead.”
Mr Wilton was tight-lipped about naming any players, but did say he thought the competition would be closer than previous years with some clubs gaining some valuable inclusions.
The Bay Tigers, who won the competition on their return to Group 16 in 2015 will be among the top contenders with coach Mason Harrison acquiring some strong new players for his squad.
Wilton also said the Merimbula-Pambula Bulldogs would likely be building on their success from 2017, particularly with hosting rights this year at ‘The Dog Pound’.
Mens and women’s matches will run at the Pambula Sporting Complex on Saturday with games to run all day.
