Jen Mallinson creates abstract forms inspired by the environment that surrounds her.  Her investigation of tidal pools and the patterns created through wind and water, is one aspect evident in this work.  

With a passion for steel and attention to detail, Ms Mallinson has developed finely honed skills in creating organic sculptural forms over the past decade.

She has won several prestigious awards for her sculpture, the Philip Cox Acquisitive Prize at Sculpture on the Edge and the Bega Valley Council commission for Littleton Gardens.  

Her “Meeting of Two Rivers” piece takes pride of place in the Bega’s central park, applauded for linking the civic centre to Biamanga (Mumbulla Mountain) and local waterways.

Olivia Bernardoff divides her time between Wapengo and Braidwood.  Her landscapes reflect the terrain of both areas, with her preferred medium oil on board or aluminium sheet. The aluminium gives a pleasing reference to Jen Mallinson’s use of stainless steel in her sculpture. 

Antonia Haege, a Sydney-based artist, has been painting for close to 20 years and studied under such prominent artists as Jo Bertini and Michael Herron as well as attending the National Art School. She has painted many commissions and is represented in private collections in Australia and New Zealand. This is the second exhibition of her dramatic abstract paintings at Ivy Hill.

Join the artists for drinks on Saturday, January 20, from 5pm.  You will find Ivy Hill Gallery on the coast road between Bermagui and Tathra. The gallery is  open from 10am until 5pm, Thursday to Sunday. This exhibition will run until February 18.
