The brothers were the last two standing during the Far South Coast National Show’s demolition derby in front of a crowd of what organisers said neared 2000 people.
Organisers were thrilled with a turnout of 24 drivers for the headline act on the Show’s final night including a number of female drivers like Sonya Matthews, who impressed driving a Subaru Forester to finish in the top five.
Kane looked like the car to beat through the middle stages of the derby that took about 20 minutes to knock the engines out of the field.
Meanwhile, Troy had appeared to be finished in the late stages before his engine found new life to contest the crown with his brother.
A good final clash left Kane’s car crippled with glimpses of flames under the hood.
Other drivers who impressed included Jackson Whitby, while the Autopro van quickly became a crowd favourite, surviving some brutal collisions throughout the early carnage.
Kane happily accepted the $500 runner-up prize, while two other prizes were presented for the best presented car and the best-performer.
The massive crowd was pumped up for the main event with an earlier running of the popular dog high jump and the final show of BMX bike tricks by the riders at Unchained BMX.
Promoters had the massive crowd screaming for more as a pair of riders pulled off tricks including back flips, front flips and some high flying superman jumps (letting go of the bike).
The ultimate trick capped off the show with a rider landing a no-hands back flip, while pushing the bike through a horizontal 360.
The dog jump also impressed with the leading competitors bounding over some tremendous heights.
Brett Rogers announced and officiated the popular fixture as the finalists bounded over a wooden wall that towered at over nine feet at the pointy end of the competition.
Organisers said they were thrilled with the response to the Show from the community and thanked everyone who turned out on the night to watch the feature events.
