Bega Valley Shire Council’s National Youth Week grants are now open.
Local community groups and organisations are invited to apply for grants of up to $1,000 for activities held during Youth Week in 2017.
National Youth Week is an annual, week-long celebration of young people (aged 12–25) throughout Australia and in 2017 it will be celebrated from March 31 to April 9.
Council is looking for creative ideas that will fill a calendar of events for young people across the shire during Youth week in 2017.
Council strongly encourages applications from young people and all funded activities should show how young people are actively involved. Council’s Place Based Officers are available to provide advice and support to people who are thinking about getting an activity off the ground.
Examples of previously funded initiatives include, skate events, Indigenous youth workshops, film making workshops, art workshops, dance parties, and awareness campaigns developed by local young people.
Partnerships and collaborations between groups are encouraged. Non-profit organisations need to be incorporated associations or be auspiced by one to be eligible
Applications must be received before 5pm on 21 November 2016 and successful organisations will be notified in mid-December 2016.
