The first of its kind in recent memory, the concert will involve over 120 instrumentalists, 24 singers and five conductors. Each band will perform individually, as well as combined. The highlight of the program will be the combined bands, along with local choir, Spirit Allegro, joining forces to present two moving works, the first, a setting of Marta Keen’s lovely ballad, Homeward Bound, and the second, a stirring arrangement of Dry Your Tears, Afrika, by John Williams.
The concert coincides with the IMP Junior Concert Band’s tour of the far South Coast, where they will perform at local schools.
The concert is on Wednesday, October 19 at 7:30pm at Club Sapphire. Tickets are $10 available on 6495 1306.
