A four-band blues night will rock Merimbula on September 30 at Club Sapphire.
19-Twenty have been whipping up a frenzy on the festival scene. They are electric. They are manic. They are an infectious riff and groove based blue-billy-grass-rockin'-roots band.
The 19-Twenty lads have been performing their high-energy sonic-party nationally, headlining sell-out shows and festivals in all states and territories. Constantly on the road, they have toured seven times around Oz and performed gigs throughout Europe.
What started out as a side project with Jackson Way and Nick Elliott took on a life of it's own when Mac Tango was formed early in 2015 to produce mind mellowing roots and groove with a smooth, sexy blend of alternative funk and soul.
They played their first gig to a packed Heritage Hotel crowd in Bulli with Chuparossa. After many more gigs Mac Tango are quickly gathering a large fan base with their original sound and Jackson's extraordinary vocal range.
One day Phil Throng decided that his music room was growing too many cobwebs. He knew that Brett Lurch played drums a long time ago, so he coaxed him down to jam with a second hand kit he picked up.
From this wheels were put in motion and converging together on a Saturday with beers in hand, the foundations of "The Mind Tenants" were laid.
As much as Brett has tried to play covers to avoid writing, we have all stood fast in the end and agreed that playing our own brand is what we have fun doing. Fresh out of Pirate Studios with a new album, and a growing bag of songs under the belt Mind Tenants look forward to playing live.
'Hollerin' Matt Southon is a blues player from the far south coast of New South Wales. Having settled in the small country town of Wyndham after many years in the Illawarra, Matt has been concentrating on his ‘Australian Verandah Blues’.
His distinctive style is reflected in his instruments, with guitars crafted from old corrugated iron and cigar boxes, and a demeanor and voice that reveal an indisputable realness, its a stripped back, but energetic show that always connects with the audiences.
These four act will all be playing at Club Sapphire on Friday night.
