Sapphire Coast residents are being encouraged to head to an information session this weekend to talk with firefighters about getting ready for the bushfire season.
Brigades right around the state are set to hold Get Ready Weekend activities on September 10 and 11 where residents can learn how to prepare their homes for the bushfire season, which starts in October.
Merimbula RFS volunteers will talk about preparing properties, writing fire plans and making arrangements for loved ones, including pets and livestock.
Merimbula RFS will be hosting a Bournda Area Residents Meeting from 10-11am on Saturday (meet at Cnr of Widgeram Road and Sapphire Coast Drive) and will be at the Tura Beach Woolworths on Sunday from 10-11am.
