Officials said the President's consistency singles semi-finals produced high quality contests.
Alan Simpson proved too consistent for Ian Lloyd, while Tony Shaw brought his "A" game to outpoint Dylan Cuthbert.
The final should is expected to be hotly contested with Shaw having to give Simpson a 12 shot start under the handicap system of the event.
In social bowls on Thursday, Dylan Cuthbert, Paul Stewart and Warren Harding put in a superb performance in amassing 26 points against quality opposition. Saturday's pairs is going from strength to strength with big fields and competitive contests. Regular viisitors to Merimbula, Lesley Calman and Frank La Scala, secured first prize with 19 points.
Club members also congratulated Bega bowler Ken Snowdon who won the champion of champions event recently.
