Everyone is invited to this year’s NAIDOC Week celebrations in Bega on Thursday.
The theme for 2016 is Songlines: The living narrative of our nation, and the spiritual and cultural connection to knowledge, customs, ceremony and Lore of many traditional Australian cultures.
The Bega Valley event will be held at the Bega Indoor Sports Centre from 11am to 3pm with a barbecue lunch, guest speakers, information stalls, the Playability Toy Library, boomerang painting, a jumping castle and other games.
There will also be a special performance by the Djaajawan Dancers.
Bega Local Aboriginal Land Council CEO Glenn Willcox also hinted at the possibility of football games on the nearby oval.
The day is supported by NSW Aboriginal Affairs, Katungal Aboriginal Health Services, Wandarma Aboriginal Drug and Alcohol Services, Bega Valley Shire Council and Campbell Page Employment.
