The Sapphire Coast Boardriders Club will be holding another family-friendly competition this Saturday.
Officials said there were some large swells predicted so they jumped at the chance where the open competition will truly get a chance to show off their skills.
“The decision will be made on the day of the venue with a possibility to move the event to a destination with more favourable conditions,” club president Craig Ryan said.
Members will meet at Merimbula’s short point beach at 7am to assess the conditions.
Mr Ryan said smaller conditions favour youngsters, but the club was hoping for some big waves to bring out the best in the open men’s comp.
“The emphasis will be on finally getting the open men’s a surf as we need to get the men wet with the under 18s and women to follow,” he said.
To register for the competition, head to the club’s Facebook event page by Friday at noon or email sapphirecoastboardriders@gmail.com.
