The two pools at Sapphire Aquatic Centre will be closed from during the school holidays, Saturday, July 2 to Sunday, July 17 for maintenance and repairs to both the 25 metre pool and the multipurpose pool.
During that time the gym, land-based group fitness classes and the child minding room will remain open.
An annual shutdown usually occurs during the April school holidays but this year it has been pushed back to the July school holidays when fewer people use the pools, council said.
Works will include the refurbishment of the 25 metre pool liner with a fiberglass laminate coating, and modifications to the stainless steel rails on both pools.
Aquatic Centre members who are affected by this closure will have the lost time added to their membership, with the exception of direct debit members who will receive a complimentary page of vouchers to use at the centre.
