The Sapphire Coast Turf Club will play host to a full seven race card on May 1.
Officials are encouraging everyone to “fire up” for what they said would be an outstanding day of racing on the Sapphire Coast.
The club is a family friendly venue and there will be a jumping castle available for kids on the day, while for the punters it is a full TAB race meet.
Nominations are in with acceptances to be announced later this week, but preliminary signs are strong for a great day of racing as large stables sign on for the day.
Robert Price and Nick Olive feature heavily in the nominations, while a number of trainers are lining up horses for a run at the Sapphire track.
The Barbara Joseph and Paul Jones stables also have a number of runners prepped and ready to take on the day.
Club secretary/manager Rob Tweedie said the turf club was the “jewel of country racing” and encouraged everyone to head along on the day.
The club will have free buses running to and from the track on the day with the gates to open at 11.45am.
There will also be free entry for everyone under 16.
A limited number of reserved seating packages are still available through the club.
Tickets are $50 and include entry, drinks vouchers and seating in the sponsors area for the day.
