The Bermagui-Cobargo Eels won its first game since returning to Group 16 and beat the Bay Tigers 26-22 in a nail-biting reserve grade clash at Mackay Park on April 10.

The Eels fended off the Tigers, who made a spirited comeback to square to the match at 22-all with two minutes remaining, with centre Sean Lambert scoring in the corner to snatch the win shortly before full-time.

Batemans Bay will a rue spate of errors that gave the Eels good field position in the second half and allowed for the visitors to mount more pressure on the Tiger goal line.

However, it was a fiercely competitive match and each team had its moments where it could have broke away in the first half.

Batemans Bay led 12-6 mid-way through the first stanza through converted tries to Tyson and Brent Pan, but two quick Eel tries and a Tiger sin bin gave the away team momentum at the break.
