A good contingent of junior drivers were on hand to contest the Sapphire Coast Kart Club’s first meet of the year on the weekend.
The club was open on Saturday for practice and lap rounds as well as offering an opportunity to try out the Subaru four-strokes the club has invested in.
The Subarus are part of a rapidly growing class and provide easy entry or a good trial option for anyone looking at joining the sport.
Organisers said the fields were a little smaller than usual as many of the senior drivers were involved in other events, but were pleased with the response from the juniors.
The club welcomed some local racers as well as a number of visiting drivers, who enjoyed the circuit.
Some of the visitors said they enjoyed the technical layout of the Frogs hollow course that provided a real cornering challenge and included a good mix of fast and winding sections.
