
Out of Abingdon are on their ‘Long Hot Summer Tour 2016’ featuring at festivals, halls, theatres bars across NSW and Canberra and as part of the tour will be appearing at Nethercote Hall on Saturday, January 23 at 7pm.
Out of Abingdon are Warwick Hargreaves on guitar/vocals and Tina Fullerton, double bass/vocals.
From a passionate desire to make raw beautiful music that grooves and delights, Out of Abingdon have built a unique sound that draws from influences including Stevie Ray Vaughan, Grant Green, Bjork and Nina Simone. They have an understated elegance.
Out of Abingdon toured the UK and Europe in 2011 and 2012 playing shows in London, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Paris and Berlin and have played at festivals including the Edinburgh Fringe, Brisbane International Jazz, Noosa Jazz and the Gold Coast Folk, Gulgong Folk and Neurum Creek Music Festivals to clubs, bars, cafes, private and corporate functions in Brisbane and East Coast Australia.
They have independently recorded and released three albums.
Their debut ‘Journeys’ in 2011, was recorded with a bluestone church in country Victoria, providing the beautiful acoustics for the recording.
Their second CD ‘Out of Abingdon live’ was recorded in 2012 at The Basement, Sydney and the Brisbane Jazz Club. In 2014 they released their first official video ‘3 Piece Suit’ a slightly cheeky ode to tango.
Out of Abingdons latest CD ‘Small Steps’ was recorded in the stunning acoustics of St Mary’s, Ipswich.
They are performing at Nethercote Hall on Saturday, January 23 at 7pm, and will make a cameo appearance at the Nethercote Market that same morning.
