Club Sapphire’s plans to convert two greens to synthetic, erecting a roof over these greens, closing the other two grass greens, and renovation/upgrade of parts of the clubhouse and Rockpool Gardens area, was unanimously approved at the AGM on Sunday.

CEO, Damien Foley said it was a very positive meeting with 146 members attending and voting on the $5.5m spend.
Internal works in the club are expected to start after Easter 2016 followed by the installation of the synthetic greens in Spring.
The vote to change the constitution allowing up to two social members on the board was also passed (previously all seven directors had to be bowling members).
Three new directors and one previous director were elected; those being Ron Christie (previous director), and Christine Keens, Ricky Holt and Greg Halloran (new).
The board elected Ron Christie chairman, Peter Moore deputy chairman and Ian Martin treasurer.
